     ”Babe…” Harry whispers, rubbing his hands gently across Louis’ bare arms. “Babe, wake up, I need to show you something.”

     ”Haz?” Louis muffles out, pressing his face back into the pillow and pulling the warm duvet closer to his body. “I’m sleeping babe, show me tomorrow.”

     ”It can’t wait until tomorrow! C’mon! It will take five minutes then you can go back to bed, I promise.”

Relentlessly, Louis pushes the covers off his body and regrets it instantly when the cold air encompasses his exposed body. He sits up for a moment, allowing hid body a chance to wake up, before padding over to his closet and pulling out a thick wool jumper and some joggers.

     ”Grab a coat too.” Harry says.

     ”What?” Louis replies, incredulous. “It’s freezing outside Haz!”

Harry ignores Louis’ complaints and continues packing up the rest of his stuff. Once he’s put the final item in his bag, he takes hold of Louis’ hand and leads them out of their flat. The walk is quick but the crisp December air has Louis complaining the entire way. When they finally reach the end of the street, Louis looks up to see an entire playground lit up with Christmas lights.

     ”Haz…” Louis states breathlessly, “what is all this?”

Harry remains silent, grabbing Louis’ hand and pulling him towards the playgrounds castle and squeezeing them both through the tiny doors. Once inside the miniature room, Harry opens up his bag and pulls out a small box and a red lighter, ”close your eyes.” 

Looking at Harry questioningly, Louis closes one eye first before hesitantly shutting the other. Giving him permission to open them again, Harry waits for Louis’ eyes to refocus before holding up a small cake complete with 3 brightly lit candles and a banner reading Never Grow Up.

     ”Happy Birthday Lou.”
